European Hunter Auction
In 2017, Sorensen Stables presented The HUNT: the first ever European Horse Auction, in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Unlike many European sporthorse auctions centered around young jumper prospects, THE HUNT is a one-of-a-kind event comprised of horses curated specifically for the North American hunter market. A collection of Europe's top horses with proven hunter talent are gathered together for one spectacular night, all available for purchase to the highest bidder.

By meticulously hand-selecting the collection of elite horses, Chris has exponentially decreased the amount of work required for potential buyers. Adding to the appeal, the horses offered at The HUNT have all been trained exclusively as hunter prospects. Trainers and riders can reap the benefits of purchasing a schooled hunter horse with the knowledge that they are saving both time and funds by circumventing the jumper-to-hunter transition process, making for a swift entrance into the show ring.
A NIGHT TO REMEMBER
More than just a horse auction, THE HUNT offers its guests an unprecedented experience featuring an elegant horse presentation, fine dining, a competitive auction and a festive after-party. In 2017, equine enthusiasts from over thirty countries attended or tuned in to the live spectacle. Of the 14 equines that were thrillingly auctioned, THE HUNT accumulated total sales of €1,120,000, with the average sale price resting at €80,000. Pre-booked flights, castrations, appointments and quarantine made for a seamless export from door-to-door.
